Your role:

As a Senior Analyst / Associate in our M&A Food & Agro / Consumer team, you will work on M&A projects (sell- /buy-side) for our German and international clients. In addition to managing M&A projects, you will contribute to business development, support and mentor analysts and interns, and build a strong network both within and outside of Investec. A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset is essential.

Your Responsibilities:

Analytics & Financial Modelling

• Analysis of financial statements and key KPIs to prepare decision-relevant information materials.
• Conducting industry, company, and competitive analyses, as well as value-maximizing positioning of companies (“Equity Story”).
• Development of financial models and analyses, as well as company valuations (LBO, DCF, Multiples).

Execution & Project Management

• Independent execution and management of workflows in M&A processes, including the preparation of project materials (pitches, information memoranda, management presentations, etc.), coordination of due diligence processes, investor outreach, etc.
• Ensuring a smooth progression of all project phases and early identification of potential risks or bottlenecks.

Communication & Leadership

• Direct point of contact for clients, investors, other advisors, and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
• Active support in business development by identifying new opportunities and creating compelling pitches.
• Mentoring and professional development of analysts and interns to establish know-how and best practices within the team.

Your Profile

Technical Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in M&A, ideally with initial transaction experience in the Food & Agro / Consumer sector.
• Experience and expertise in preparing predominantly English-language process documents for M&A projects (pitches, information memoranda, management presentations, financial models, etc.).

Technical Skills & Language Proficiency

• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Business-fluent German and English skills
